Simple adblock uses two techniques for removing ads: Adblocking and Element hiding as described in adblocking explained

Troubleshoot:
- Verify that you can see the adblock menu icon in the statusbar
- Make sure that there is no other plugins within internet explorer conflicting with Simple Adblock:
In Internet Explorer goto Manage addons and disable all other plugins than SimpleAdblock Class. If that makes Simple Adblock work try and enable the disabled plugins one by one to identify which plugin is conflicting with Simple Adblock - Reset the adblock settings by deleting all the setting files within the Application Data folder
